Yesterday, we had the absolute pleasure of visiting West Ashton Primary School in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. We presented 98 students with an assembly which helped the children develop their knowledge and understanding of plastic pollution. The students were super enthusiastic and asked some great questions!

Afterwards, we delved into our interactive plastic decomposition activity with each class. The purpose of this activity is to help the students understand how long it takes for different items to biodegrade in the environment. The children did an excellent job at working in teams to guess-timate the lifetime of each item. In fact, they were our 2nd ever school to get the life of a wet wipe correct!

Finally, we took each class outside onto the school grounds to clear up any stray pieces of litter or debris around the school environment. Years 2,3 and 4 did a fantastic job at cleaning up the playing field, whilst Years 5 and 6 tackled the car park, footpath and entryway into the school! They found an impressive 16.72 kilograms of litter, split across 7 bags, which has now been disposed of correctly.

Thank you to West Ashton School for inviting us into your community! We had a great day and hope the students enjoyed our visit. The children were amazing at getting stuck in and showing their enthusiasm for looking after the environment! We hope to see you again soon.
