We recently headed back out with the Tuffley Rainbows for a litter pick, with 21 enthusiastic volunteers joining us to help give their local area a little refresh!
Armed with litter pickers and buckets, the Rainbows got stuck in and spent their time searching the area for anything that shouldn’t be there. From small bits of plastic and packaging to all sorts of other unwanted rubbish, every piece collected was one less item left behind in the environment.
By the end of the litter pick, the group had collected an impressive 2.9 kilograms of litter!
It was brilliant to see the Rainbows getting involved and learning more about the impact that litter can have on our local environment. Litter picks are a great way for young people to see first-hand how small actions can make a real difference, while also helping to keep their local community clean and welcoming.
A huge well done to all 21 volunteers for getting stuck in and helping us tackle plastic pollution, one piece of litter at a time!
