We had a fantastic day visiting St Faith’s Primary School in Hampshire, where we spent time talking to pupils about recycling, plastic pollution and how everyone can play a part in looking after the environment.

The children got stuck into learning about where our waste goes, the problems caused by plastic pollution, and some simple ways we can all reduce the amount of rubbish ending up on the beach, in our streets, parks and waterways. There were lots of great questions and discussions, and it was clear the pupils were keen to learn more about protecting the planet, after their term of learning about the seaside!

After our classroom session, it was time to head outside for some litter picking. Although the weather had been pretty wet earlier in the day, that didn’t put anyone off. Armed with coats, litter pickers and plenty of enthusiasm, the pupils headed out to clean up their school grounds and the surrounding area.

It was brilliant to see everyone getting involved and taking pride in their local environment. The children worked hard, collected plenty of litter and showed just how much of a difference a group of determined young people can make in a short amount of time. Together they collected 3.7 kilos of litter!

A huge thank you to all the staff and pupils at St Faith’s for making us feel so welcome. We loved spending the afternoon with you and seeing your enthusiasm for helping the environment.

Well done everyone, rain or shine, you did an amazing job!
