Last week, Life’s a Beach headed to Weston-super-Mare with an incredible team of 56 volunteers from our long-term charity partner ProCook!

The event brought together staff members from a range of different teams across the business, all united by one goal, making a positive impact on the environment. It was fantastic to see so many people giving up their time to help protect our coastline and tackle the growing issue of litter pollution.

Armed with litter pickers, gloves, and plenty of enthusiasm, the team spent two hours combing the beach and surrounding areas, removing rubbish before it could wash into the sea or harm local wildlife. From tiny pieces of plastic pollution to larger discarded items, every piece collected helped make the beach cleaner and safer for both people and nature.

Some of the most interesting finds were:
- A phone screen protector
- Socks
- A tent
- A car mirro
- A little yellow plastic toy

By the end of the clean, the volunteers had collected an impressive 76 kilograms of litter! Seeing the huge pile of rubbish gathered together at the end of the session was a powerful reminder of why these events matter and the difference that can be made when people come together.
After all their hard work, the team enjoyed a well-earned reward of fish and chips on the beach – the perfect way to round off a successful morning by the sea!

We are incredibly grateful to ProCook for their continued support and commitment to our mission. This latest event marked their 22nd clean with Life’s a Beach, bringing their overall impact to an amazing 305 volunteers and 641 kilograms of litter removed over the years. Partnerships like this make a real difference and show the power of collective action in helping to protect our beaches and oceans for future generations.

A huge thank you to everybody from ProCook who took part – we can’t wait to welcome you back for clean number 23!
