There’s nothing quite like the combination of community spirit, fresh sea air, and a shared mission to protect our environment – and that’s exactly what we experienced last week when we teamed up with NFU Mutual Insurance to clean Llandudno Beach!
We were thrilled to partner with 14 incredible volunteers, who used their time and energy to help make a difference. With buckets, bags, and litter pickers in hand, the team met bright and early for an 8:30am start. The skies were dry, the tide was low, and spirits were high – the perfect conditions for a beach clean!
As we walked along the beach, we found some really interesting items. In addition to the usual culprits like plastic bottles and cigarettes, we came across wet wipes, ghost gear (fishing equipment), mystery machine parts, and even an old electrical plug! It was a strong reminder of the strange and persistent litter that finds its way into our environments.
Thanks to the hard work and determination of the NFU Mutual team, we managed to collect an impressive 50 kilograms of litter – which spread across 9 full black bin bags! Every piece removed is a step toward a healthier beach and a safer ocean for wildlife and future generations.
