We recently had the pleasure of visiting Cam Woodfields primary school for a day filled with learning, enthusiasm, and meaningful action. It was inspiring to see 55 children come together to learn about the environment and make a real difference within their community for our first school visit of 2026!

The visit began with a lively and thoughtful assembly, where the children explored plastic pollution, why it is bad for the planet and what they can do to help!

Following the assembly, the children took part in a decomposition timeline activity. This hands-on session encouraged them to think critically about everyday items and how long they take to break down in the environment. By placing items along a timeline, the children gain an important understanding of the long-lasting impact of litter and waste, sparking great discussions about reducing, reusing, and recycling.

The highlight of the visit was a litter-picking around the school, where the children put their learning into action. Working together with energy and determination, they collected an impressive two black bags, full of litter! In total, the litter weighed 5.89 kilograms, which is a fantastic achievement and a clear demonstration of how collective action, even on a small scale, can have a significant impact.

Throughout the day, the children showed teamwork, responsibility, and pride in their efforts. It was wonderful to see them taking ownership of their environment and understanding that their actions truly matter.

A huge thank you to the staff and pupils for such a warm welcome and for making the day such a success. Visits like this remind us that education and action go hand in hand, and that young people play a vital role in creating a cleaner, greener future!
