Last night, Life’s a Beach headed out with 1st Woodmancote Guides for a litter pick! Although the area was looking pretty clean, that certainly didn’t stop the girls from getting stuck in!
With 22 volunteers taking part, the Guides searched high and low for any stray pieces of litter that had been left behind. They really had to put their detective skills to the test, as there wasn’t a huge amount of litter to be found, but every single piece they collected still made a difference.
By the end of the litter pick, the group had collected 1.1 kilograms of litter. While that might not sound like a huge amount, it’s a great result considering how clean the area was to begin with. It just goes to show that even small pieces of litter are worth picking up before they can make their way into the environment.
To make the evening even better, the Guides were treated to a beautiful sunset while they were out litter picking. It was the perfect backdrop for an evening spent outdoors and doing something positive for the local area.
