Last weekend, Life’s a Beach swapped the seaside for the festival fields as we headed to Reading Festival for a weekend of litter picking and festival cleanup!
From Friday through to Monday, our brilliant volunteers were out across the festival site, helping to keep the grounds clean and making sure as much waste as possible was collected and sorted responsibly.
Festival weekends are always busy, and with thousands of people coming together to enjoy live music, food and entertainment, there’s plenty for our volunteers to get stuck into. Armed with litter pickers, bags and plenty of enthusiasm, our team worked across the site throughout the weekend, tackling litter and helping to keep Reading Festival looking its best. Despite the heavy rain and thunderstorms, every volunteer powered through making a real difference to the area!
We kicked off the weekend on Friday, with our first group of volunteers getting straight to work across the festival site.

Recycling collected: 59.23 kg
Total: 114.58 kg
Saturday brought another busy day for the team, as our second group of volunteers continued their litterpicking efforts across the site, powering through torrential downpour all day!

By Sunday, the team were well into their festival routine! Another day of litter picking saw our third group of volunteers helping to clear waste and keep on top of the busy site.

As the festival came to an end, our volunteers were back out for one final push, helping to leave the site as clean as possible after a brilliant weekend!

We also had messaging throughout the festival, encouraging festival goers to think and act sustainably!
