We recently headed to Weston Parade in Southampton for another fantastic beach clean-up. This time we were joined by some amazing volunteers from Pernod Ricard UK and Works4U. With 11 volunteers taking part, it was brilliant to see everyone come together to help make a difference to the local area, despite the very warm weather.
Over just two hours, the team collected an impressive 15.7kg of litter! From bottles and food packaging to all sorts of other rubbish, every piece removed is one less item that can cause harm to wildlife. Due to the location of Weston Parade, lots of litter had washed ashore such as plastic nurdles, a croc, and even a vinyl record. The team made sure to collect everything, even the nurdles which are very difficult to collect.
It was a great example of what can be achieved when people come together and get stuck in. A huge thank you to all 11 volunteers from Pernod Ricard UK and Works4U for giving up their time, getting involved and helping us make Southampton a cleaner place.
