We recently spent two fantastic days at Hardwicke Parochial Primary School, working with every class from Reception through to Year 6. Despite the summer heat, the enthusiasm of the pupils never faded as they got stuck into learning about the environment and taking action to protect it.
Across the two days, we delivered interactive workshops focused on the importance of recycling, reducing plastic waste, and the small changes we can all make to help protect our planet. The children asked brilliant questions, shared their own ideas for cutting down on plastic, and showed a real passion for making a difference in their community.
Of course, no visit would be complete without getting outside for a litter pick! Together, the pupils collected an impressive 12.7kg of litter from around the local area. It was a fantastic effort, especially in the warm weather, and a great example of what can be achieved when a whole school comes together with a shared purpose.
It was wonderful to see every age group, from 4 to 11 years old, getting involved. Whether they were learning about where plastic ends up, sorting recycling, or helping to tidy their local environment, every child played their part.
A huge thank you to everyone at Hardwicke Parochial Primary School for making us feel so welcome. We loved seeing the children’s enthusiasm and commitment, and we hope they left feeling inspired to continue making positive choices for the environment every day.
