We love a sunny day with good company and a great cause, and that’s exactly what we got when we joined our amazing charity partners ProCook for a clean-up at Indurent Park!
With the sun beaming down and spirits high, the ProCook team turned up ready to make a difference. We were also joined by our fantastic neighbours from GBCC, and brilliant volunteers from Gardiners, who rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in from the get-go. It’s always a treat to work side-by-side with teams who care deeply about their local environment, and this crew brought energy, determination, and even a few laughs along the way.
Indurent Park is a much-loved green space, but like many public areas, it’s not immune to litter. Even though we only covered a small section of the park and surrounding paths, we still managed to make a big impact—pulling crisp packets from hedges, fishing bottle tops from the grass, and clearing up all kinds of bits and pieces that don’t belong in nature. Among the more surprising finds were masses of shredded plastic, a pair of pants, and crazily a buried vintage TV, which crumbled the moment it was dug up.
Altogether, we collected an impressive 30.02 kg of rubbish in just over an hour. It might not have been the beach this time, but every clean counts and urban green spaces need just as much love. The industrial estate where we all work is now that little bit cleaner and we couldn’t be happier.
A huge thank you to the teams at ProCook, GBCC, and Gardiners—you helped return even a small patch of Indurent Park to the calm, clean space it’s meant to be. It’s always a privilege to work with organisations that care about their community and the planet.
