Last week, we hosted our first litterpick with CDW up in Manchester! This event was in partnership with HP as part of the HP Amplify Impact Programme, designed to encourage sustainable, environmental change. Not only this, but what a way to drive community engagement!
A team of 24 amazing volunteers from CDW rolled up their sleeves and swapped their desks for inner city Manchester to take part in a rewarding litterpick. With bin bags in hand and a mission in mind, they set out to tackle the litter and leave the city cleaner than how they found it!
The skies were grey, but spirits were high as the team worked together to collect an absolutely outstanding 191.46 kilograms of litter, which filled 36 black bags! From discarded plastic bottles to stray wrappers, every item removed was one less hazard for local wildlife, however the best find (or worst depending which way you look at it😬 ) was an entire motorbike and helmet!
